Slow Stitch Reticule with Sample Booklet Class with Robin Dudley Howes

Slow Stitch Reticule with Sample Booklet Class with Robin Dudley Howes

$125.00

Step into a bygone era where technology was non-existent and handmade items were cherished. In this class we’ll learn simple embroidered slow stitch techniques and create a beautiful small pouch (reticule) with repurposed snippets of antique/vintage trims and embellishments. Demonstrations will be held through your day of crafting on simple embroidery, beaded crochet and how and what I use to make the pouch. A small handmade booklet will be provided to fill with embroidery examples and fit perfectly inside your reticule. Your kit will have most everything you need including a pre-made pouch, pre-made pearl/button crochet cord, antique/vintage trims & textiles, mother of pearl buttons, antique replica of embroidery stitches for your handmade booklet, needle and embroidery floss. Please keep in mind some of the pouches, buttons & ephemera provided in your kit will be slightly different from the sample but equally as dazzling!

Students need only bring 2 types of scissors for fabric & paper as well as some straight pins and a cloth napkin or similar to lay out your kit contents.

A reticule, also known as a ridicule or indispensable, was a type of small handbag or purse, similar to a modern evening bag, used mainly from 1795 to 1820.[1]

Our original class policy still applies to all classes and crops.
